Best Coffee Beans Deserve The Best Coffee Makers

There are a mind boggling array of coffee making machines from the very basic to high tech electronically programmable ones available on the market today. However many of these ultra modern coffee makers no longer use the good old coffee bean. They may produce a good cup of coffee without the hassle but somehow it is just not the same. There is nothing quite like buying the best coffee beans you can afford, grinding them freshly and then making a carafe of rich and smooth coffee.
With the best coffee beans and fresh coffee in mind I have put together a review of 5 of the best coffee makers which make REAL coffee from your best coffee beans!
The Cuisinart 12 Cup Coffee Maker.
Main Features:
1. A charcoal filter which filters away impurities and produces great flavoured coffee.
2. A light which indicates when cleaning to remove any calcium build up is required.
3. Keep your coffee hot with a hot plate which has three settings.
4. The 12 cup jug comes with a ergonomically designed handle, a spout which does not drip and a guard to prevent burning hands.
5. Can be programmed to automatically shut off with varying settings.
This coffee maker has all the essential functions required from any coffee maker.
The automatic cut off, programmable self brewing,and the drip less carafe are all big winners in this model.
It is aesthetically pleasing and most important of all makes HOT coffee which can be kept hot on the hotplate regulated to the holding temperature you require by three different settings. You know what it is like – you brew coffee and by the time you put milk, cream or your preferred whitener in it is only warm at best! Not with this coffee maker.
The two main complaints about this model are that the area for filling water into the tank is difficult to see and it is also it is difficult to see the level of water in the tank. The second complaint is that although this coffee maker lets you know when it requires cleaning to remove any calcium build up the main body of the coffee maker does not come apart for cleaning and customers fear that a build up of old coffee granules will in time affect performance.
All this said, for the price it is a great little machine and if you wish you can purchase a
Cuisinart Gold Tone Filter which is reusable as an extra.
This is a very simple, cheap coffee maker which does its job extremely well. You will not find any timers, clocks or unnecessary fancy “add-ons” here . The Mr Coffee 12 cup coffee maker is very user friendly, the water reservoir is easy to access and cleaning is straight forward.
Brewing time is fairly short and the coffee is hot and without any unpleasant after-taste.
The biggest attraction to this fantastically simple coffee maker is the price!
The manufacturer does suggest using paper filters however this can be quite costly a Medelco 8-12 Cup Basket Permanent Coffee Filter fits this machine perfectly and will save money in the long term.
Cuisinart 1100 BK 12 Cup Programmable Coffee Maker
Main Features:
1. Completely automatic coffee maker with the ability to program 24hours in advance.
2. The carafe has been designed with an ergonomic handle, a drip less spout and a guard to protect your knuckles.
3. This machine can be set to brew between 1 and 4 cups and has the ability to pause during brewing. It is also self cleaning.
4. It comes with a gold tone coffee filter and a charcoal water filter ensuring great coffee.
5. Dimensions:8 by 8 by 14-1/4 inches.
This coffee maker makes excellent HOT coffee. It is easily programmed and provided you use the carafe it is easy to fill the reservoir with water there are no major problems. The no leaks, no mess claims are most certainly true. The ability to brew larger or smaller amounts of coffee is also very useful. This machine will even beep to tell you coffee is ready! It will also warn you with a beep before it switches itself off.
There are a few issues which seem to cause problems for some. The biggest being the size of the opening for pouring the water in and the fact that it is very close to the opening for the coffee grounds and can easily be spilt in. If this happens it is difficult to clean It has also been noted by some people that the beeps warning of shut down and alerting you to the end of the brewing cycle are very loud and can disturb sleeping children. Many have also stated that the snap on lid is difficult to remove.
On balance it would seem that in the majority of cases the benefits of this Cuisinart coffee maker far outweigh the small, niggly negative points.
Sanyo SAC-MST6 Coffee/Tea Maker with Built-In Grinder
Main Features:
1. This six cup coffee/tea maker has a charcoal filter for improved flavour.
2. It comes with its own built in grinder for your convenience.
3. It has a shower-drip coffee basket and a specially designed tea basket.
4. The reservoir is easy to fill and can be removed.It also has the water levels marked on the front.
5. Dimensions: 11-3/16 by 11-13/16 by 10-7/8 inches
This coffee maker produces a great cup of coffee.
The detachable water tank allows you to fill with water easily and without mess.
A built in grinder is a useful addition and grinds the coffee beans quickly and quietly and the container detaches easily to pour the ground coffee into the filter. The combination of brewing tea and coffee works really well as different filters are provided so there is no tea tasting like coffee with this machine.
With so many detach able parts this coffee maker is easily cleaned to allow top performance at all times.
One complaint which seems to be prevalent is that although it states that this is a six cup coffee or tea maker a lot of the water is lost due to a lot of steam being produced during brewing and the actual amount of coffee produced is more like two cups. Another niggle which comes up is that this machine does not have an automatic cut off.
Many customers also purchase this coffee maker under the impression that it will grind the coffee beans and brew the coffee automatically – only to be disappointed. The container from the grinder has to be removed and the grounds poured into the filter manually.
Replacing carafes for coffee machines can be a pain but usually finding one to fit your make and model is not too difficult. Due to the shape of this coffee maker this is not possible at any local store and purchasing on-line is expensive when considering the original price of the machine.
Despite these downfalls this coffee/tea maker gets a general thumbs up.
This coffee maker will function perfectly using Melitta Cone Coffee Filters or a Cuisinart Gold Tone Filter which is reusable will also fit and save you some cash.
Cuisinart DCC-2600 Brew Central 14-Cup Coffee maker
Main Features:
1. This coffee maker is completely automatic, has two strength setting and can be programmed 24 hours in advance.
2. The hot plate temperature can be set to suit your preference in how hot you like your coffee and the carafe is extra large in size.
3. To allow you to have a cup of coffee before brewing is complete there is a brew pause feature available.
4. Automatic shut off can be set for up to 4 hours .
5. Comes complete with gold tone filter and charcoal filter.
With this model most of the past features which were sent to try your patience such as the small space for filling with water , the position of the water level gauge appear to have been put right by the people at Cuisinart.
This model is easy to program and the fact that the strength of the coffee you brew can be set to your preference is an added advantage. The drip proof carafe is also well received and the charcoal filter ensures great tasting coffee.
The jury is out however, when it comes to the length of time it takes to brew. The one minute per cup to some is reasonable to others it is a bit slow.
The only things which some seemed to be disappointed with is that the clock on front is not illuminated and for a few the coffee was not hot enough.
In all this Cuisinart coffee maker gets a BIG thumbs up!
